Guelph, Ontario - May and June were full of new education opportunities for Members at the Guelph & District Association of REALTORS®!
We kicked off the spring education program with a presentation by GDAR Gold Partner Teranet on "Comparable Sales in GeoWarehouse". This virtual education session had over 60 people registered. Alicia Flores is a very knowledgeable presenter and she will be back soon to teach us all about Title Documents on June 26.
Our Platinum Partner, Sandra Lastovic from The Mortgage Centre continued her monthly virtual Market Updates and presented 2 sessions in May and June:
Tricks of the Trade - How to get Offers with No Conditions
How to Talk to Sellers About the Costs of Selling and Buying A Home.

GDAR also hosted local social media guru Tim Campbell-Smith in our GDAR Classroom on May 10th to talk about how to properly set up Social Media Advertising. Tim has been very popular with our members and his last 2 sessions have sold out in record time! GDAR members have been asking for more social media training and this is the third session we have held with Tim. You can follow him on Instagram for his Social Media Tips and Tricks:
In June, GDAR welcomed back Cindy McMann, Educator from Women in Crisis to celebrate Pride Month with an in-class workshop on Gender Identities. It was great to see so many new and long-term Members alike join us for this special Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism topic.
Cindy is an excellent presenter and engages everyone in the conversation in a way that is respectful, fun, and enlightening. We learned about deconstructing gender norms and sterotypes, gender equality, gender expression and sexual orientation.
GDAR was happy to present Women in Crisis with a $1,000 donation toward their shelter to thank them for providing all of the DEIA sessions they have brought to us this year to help make us better professionals, neighbours and create a more inclusive community.

Coming up next is our Gold Partner, Robert Sheldon, lawyer with PT Law. Robert will be returning virtually on July 11th to talk to our members about Estate Sales, Probate and the Use of Powers of Attorney in Real Estate.
